Most DRP platforms take a team of 10 and $2M in funding to build. I built VisionSec solo over a few months. Here's what i learned: The expensive part isn't the code — it's the data. Threat-intel feeds (Brave, Shodan, Censys) run $500–$2000/month. So i rebuilt the detection on alternative sources. Coverage dropped ~10%, cost dropped 99%. Dedup is harder than detection. Finding threats is easy. Not re-alerting the same threat every hour for a week is the real work. Built per-worker dedup against the DB - every incident is checked against existing ones before insert. Multi-tenancy eats time. Clients, brands, domains, users, RBAC, workspace switching - it's plumbing, not features, but without it you can't sell SaaS. The result: an autonomous DRP platform that runs for ~$5/month and scales horizontally.

By 2027, brand abuse wont be an IT problem. It'll be a board-level one. Here is why DRP is about to explode: 1. AI-generated phishing.
